GRANDMA DAKIN'S MEAT SAUCE FOR SPAGHETTI   1954

This recipe is my family's favorite Spaghetti with Meat Sauce Recipe

Servings:  6

1 pound ground beef, browned and drained

1/2  Cup minced onion

1/4  Cup olive oil (or less if preferred)

2    Teaspoons minced garlic

1    Can chopped mushrooms

1/4  Teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped

1     8 oz. can tomato sauce

1    Can  ( 2 1/2 cups)  Italian tomatoes

2-1/2  Teaspoon Kosher salt

1/2  Teaspoon pepper

1/4   Sugar

1 Cup Good Red Wine

Sauté meat and onions in olive oil.  Add the next 8 ingredients.  Simmer 1 hour.  Add the wine and simmer for another hour.

Final Touches:

1 pound spaghetti, cooked al dente,  drained
1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese, diced and added to hot cooked spaghetti
1 cup grated fresh Parmesan cheese, topped on Meat Sauce
